Lomographic Lightpainting presented by Lomography at Photoville, NYC!
Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
Light up Brooklyn with color-splashed, flash-popped, light-streaked Lomographic masterpieces. We'll teach you ways to play with light and color you've never dreamed possible. This takes place at the waterfront using the evening sun as a backdrop for our amazing workshop. We'll have loaner cameras and tools on hand, plus each attendee gets one free roll of film to experiment with!
What started out spontaneously as an artistic approach to photography in the Vienna underground scene developed into Lomography becoming an international socio-cultural movement using photography as a creative approach to communicating, absorb and capturing the world. Today we are a globally active organization dedicated to experimental and creative visual expression, a playful combination of lo-tech and hi-tech and the amalgamation of a cultural institution with a commercial photographic and design company focusing entirely on the unique imagery, style and approach of analogue photography and its further development.
Photoville (photovillenyc.org) is a new Brooklyn-based photo destination - a veritable village of freight containers transformed into temporary exhibition spaces, taking place this summer from June 22 to July 1, 2012.
Photoville will feature a feisty mix of exhibitions, lectures, hands-on workshops, nighttime projections, a photo dog run, a camera greenhouse, and a summer beer-garden with food trucks that will create a photography destination like no other.
